Are you passionate about making a difference? Do you have a flair for creating content and an interest in public relations? Medserve Wales, a life-saving charity, is looking for a dedicated Volunteer PR Officer to join our team and help raise awareness of our vital lifesaving work.
About Medserve Wales:
Medserve Wales is a charity that provides essential emergency critical care to those in need of care, often on the edge of life. Our team of dedicated volunteers made up of nurses, paramedics and doctors, work tirelessly to make a difference, but we need your help to amplify our work and ensure that we can continue our mission.
About the role:
As a Volunteer PR Officer, you will play a key role in shaping how Medserve Wales is seen by the public, increasing our visibility, and highlighting the incredible work of our teams. Your efforts will directly contribute to our fundraising initiatives, helping to ensure that we can continue providing life-saving services to those who need it most.
Key Responsibilities:
• Work with the board to implement and deliver the charity PR strategy and 5 year plan
• Manage the social media channels, creating engaging content to raise the profile of our work and fundraising activities
• Write and distribute press releases, media kits, and other materials to local and national media outlets.
• Engage with journalists, bloggers, and influencers to secure coverage for the charity’s initiatives and achievements.
• Work closely with the volunteers team to promote events and campaigns to maximise support.
Skills and Experience:
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Previous experience in PR, journalism, or communications is desirable but not essential.
• A passion for charity work and making a positive impact in the community across South Wales.
• Proactive and creative with an eye for detail.
